We're all still amazed at how you keep getting diesel slime in your tank(s).

Could it be where you buy your diesel?

The attached photo was taken this morning, the blob of crud was about 3X as dense as it shows, when I teipped it up to take the picture much of it slid out of view .

At least the low fuel lamp stopped coming on above the 'R' mark on the fuel gauge ~ this led me to think that maybe, just _MAYBE_ I'd finally turned the corner on this annoying and persistent problem .

Here's the rub : the engine now idles @ 900 RPM's and I can't slow it down, the I.P.'s mechanical adjustment screw does nothing .

It's also begun to smoke again, mostly @ hot idle but also sometime when I accelerate away from traffic at night I'll see a black fuel cloud as the engine picks up speed .

The engine also lopes at idle .

The odometer died in August so I have no idea what my fuel economy is currently .

I guess it's time to stop being afraid of killing it and try to install and time the spare I.P. I took from a suer clean 1985 year model wreck last year .

I hope this comes through, yahoo's having problems this morning, it won't populate the address field as it usually does .
