Agreed on the engine and tranny. We had a 1948 Willys Overland station wagon when I was growing up; about 1950 thru the 1960’s. A very faithful companion. Bill in

It's an 81 CJ7 with an early YJ tub. This is my second MB diesel in this jeep. The first was a 300 but it had poor compression in 1 and 2 and the tranny wouldnt go out of second until it warmed up. This 240D came available last Christmas and it has a manual transmission. I think jeeps should have 4 bangers and manny trannys.
