Re: [diesel_mercedes] Alignment

Nate,

I'm guessing a tie-rod end is bad, though it could be the swaybar bushings too. I couldn't figure how to get to the drivers side bushing, without pulling the brake booster, as it's way too to tight in there.
Not tomorrow...

Rob ;

Even if the ball joints and control arm bushings are O.K. , I'd look seriously hard at the sway bar bushings as they directly affect caster and overall handling .

It's a fiddly job but not overly difficult , you can do it on your wonderful smooth and flat wide open driveway in the shade , radio softly playing......

Brian,

Seemed like summer last week in SoCal.
I'll try to get some Michelin tires tomorrow, and maybe an alignment, though I think it needs some work.

Yes, I can hardly wait to crawl under mine again, and dangle my body under the hood to scrape my knuckles again whilst not grabbing any delicate plastic parts to balance myself. It is time for oil changes, radiator flushes, filter changes, air canister remounting, and looking for under body clunking noises. It must mean that spring is in the air and winter has passed.
