Re: [diesel_mercedes] W-123 Sway Bar Bushings

Maybe, yet I have the bushings, just a PITA to get in there.

The monovalve is shot too, along with the rear brake pads.

Thanks

I wonder if the area was clean enough would one of the one or two component polyurethane sealers provide a replacement for new bushings?

Nate,

Was this a 240D that you changed the Sway Bar Bushings on?

I tried to get at the driver's side bushing w/o removing the brake booster, yet it's way to tight in there on my '85 300D.
Decided to hold off on the Sway Bar Bushings for now, though I did put in new shocks (B. HD), rotated some tires, and inspected various parts.

At some point I need a tranny rebuild, and repair the leaking oil filter canister, which might also be a good time to pull the brake booster, to make room, and replace the Sway Bar Bushings.

Maybe a wash is in order now.

O.K. ;

You begin by jacking and blocking the front of the car and removing both front wheels , then you need to remove the cute little , VERY DELICATE white plastic body pass through covers . driver's side underneath : Inline image
Driver's side on top , near the power brake booster :Inline image
They're easy to remove but delicate and crispy , only the passenger side is still available new :Inline image
You have to remove the battery box to access the passenger side .
