Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Injection Pump Questions ?
Anyone here ever change one ? .
It looks like my turn in the barrel , I was trying to take a good one off a wreck to - day but there's a hidden support bolt under the rear of the pump (I think) ~ I couldn't get it loose .
Felt like maybe a 5 or 6 MM hex cap screw ? .
OM617 (5 cylinder turbocharged) and this pump was on a California spec. model and had some box thing on the inner side of the IP , it has a two wire electrical harness coming out of it , my '84 doesn't so I wondered if it'd work anyway .
It looks like the car will be crushed to - morrow morning , IP still in it but I know i'll find another one ere long and just want to know how to get it loose after the three 13MM ATF nuts are removed .
TIA , -
(at least the rain held off until I was washed up and driving home , then it came in sheets for 15 minutes or so)
