Alan ;
A HOT tranny and torque converter flush and fill with new gasket should have been you first thing to do .
I was recently suggested to try " TRANS-X " additive and I did , it seems to have noticeably improved the shifting .
There are three or four different bottles , I didn't know which one to use so I grabbed the silver quart bottle that looks like an ATF bottle , I've been using it to top up the weepy tranny on my '82 240D , it still drips the same but shifts firmer .

At this point anything is possible, I haven't done anything on the trans yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

Seems to be primarily on the first shift up after starting off. I haven't driven it more than around town and not above about 50 MPH.On Fri, Oct 2, 2015 at 1:48 PM, 'Mark in Lakewood, CO' beeser750@... They are both disconnected internally. A winter job. That and a brake job. My main problem is that the engine revs unduly at the shifts. I think there is a relatively simple remedy for this but I can't remember what it is . Can anyone help?--Al Boucher--Al Boucher--Al Boucher
