A side note on uses for the junction boxes..... On my 1984 300sd, I was having starter/starting issues .... I was able to 'jump start' the car from the junction box, by putting an insulated pair of needle nose pliers across the set of terminals at the junction box. I think they were the ones at the ends, but there is thread here which specifies which ones you need to jumper. ....useful when stuck and you want to get to the shop.
1984 300sd....she has shown herself to be a trooper...dealing well with the cold in MD, away from CA sunshine.
