Correct ~
You simply look at the two thicker wires , grab an old paper clip and jumper those two fatter wires , she'll begin to crank and roar into life in a moment .
FWIW , any time you turn the key to the ' start ' position and there's a momentary delay before anything occurs , the starter solenoid is dying and if you (Like someone here ahem) ignore this warning signal , you can expect $ome $eriou$ wallet drain and getting stuck some where it flat refuses to crank....
It'll also chew up your ignition switch and the wiring harness .
The _ONLY_ acceptable brands of NEW (only) solenoids are BOSCH and ECHLIN (sold my NAPA) , all others _will_ do you dirt and ' rebuilt ' starter solenoids are worthless .
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

A side note on uses for the junction boxes..... On my 1984 300sd, I was having starter/starting issues .... I was able to 'jump start' the car from the junction box, by putting an insulated pair of needle nose pliers across the set of terminals at the junction box. I think they were the ones at the ends, but there is thread here which specifies which ones you need to jumper. ....useful when stuck and you want to get to the shop.
1984 300sd....she has shown herself to be a trooper...dealing well with the cold in MD, away from CA sunshine.
