When I had my '81 240D in San Francisco I used B100 in it with great success. The car had somewhere over 200k on it when I bought it (the odometer was broken, of course) and sat quite a lot for a couple of years before coming to me. I had the fuel lines changed over to Viton since biodiesel's solvent properties will degrade the natural rubber. The car started to run much smoother and quieter than it did when I bought it. It never smoked. When I moved to Palm Springs there was no biodiesel to be found, so I went back to dino diesel. The car's performance wasn't as good and it smoked a bit. If I could get my hands on B100 that's all I would use.
Your experience, of course, may differ.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Dirty Fuel Blues
Y'know Lawrence ;
For a while we could buy B20 Diesel at the pump , I always thought I should run a few tank full as I'm told it'll loosen up all the crud and dirt in the entire fuel system and that'd be a good thing in my car .
Remember when my poor Coupe was chugging to a halt now and then from clogged fuel filters ? .
I have several large fuel/water filter/separators I could plumb in and change them on the side of the road as they filled with crud...
Sigh .

Maybe you aren't using enough veggie oil in your mix. :) Lawrence Rhodes 70+mph blow by, oil usage. 55 to 60 reasonable oil usage. 1980 300 TD Just completed two months in San Diego on 1200 pounds of veg oil and 3 tanks of diesel. 1000 mile round trip with 64 miles a day commute. Blew the self leveling high pressure hose & installed a radiator but otherwise not harmed. 275 k on the clock. Purrs like a kitten at idle.
