[diesel_mercedes] Did they upgrade the fuse system in the w124's

I see a few grounds through out this car with some mild corrosion like you see when a battery drains and does its thing as it to metal.

I'm tending to think there is a ground gone awry.

I bought the car to yank the engine and transplant into a truck so I could have a diesel small truck, specifically a nissan hardbody that I already have that is needing an engine refresh.
Among the factors of using the motor for a transplant is the ability like you say to have a electronic dependent free car.

But, the car was so nice with no rust, dents etc that I began putting things back in order.
I think I'm running out of patience with this one though.
It may be transplant time.
I could handle a window or a antenna but not the turn signals that could get someone killed.
I always hated the little fuses like in the w123's when I had to deal with them in the vw beetles, not just the fuse but I found the system flaky.

Except for the aluminum head it sounds like a no brainer to get the w124
I am curious did they convert the fuse system in the 124's to the present style fuses like we have in american cars?
