On some older MB models, particularly a V8, 100K is the safest bet for a chain replacement. It's sure cheap insurance.

I hear two sides of this story,One groups says to change timing chain every 200,000 miles, and another group says it uneeded.
Wish I could do a poll to see how many change chains or not.I have 339,000 miles and wonder if I should.
