My first trip over 100MPH was in 1982 in my uncle's 1969 Buick Electra 225 4 door hardtop with a 430 C.I .  I went with my dad on the shakedown cruise after he did the head gasket job from being severely overheated.  It did very well!  The next one was when we bought a 1971 Buick Riviera Boat Tail for $300 since it was also overheated and in need of head gaskets and a valve job.  That 455 V8 had no trouble at all getting up to 100!  It was a great car for quite a few years until it started breaking down.  I wish we would have kept it around for fun.
