[diesel_mercedes] Fuel tank vent clogged in a bad place.

 

I cleaned out the dongle in front of the drivers rear wheel & replaced the hose
from the tank which is about 4 or 5 inches long and is under the car next to the
return line. At this point you can check for blockage in both directions using
a hose. Mine tested good to the dongle but not so good back to the tank. I
know won't hold a vacuum but every time I open the tank cap I get a whoosh. So
there is still some sort of blockage. I use veg oil. That stuff can
polymerize. The line from the tank to the bottom of the car is a problem. I
couldn't see any access when I took off my first aid kit. Access to the line
anywhere else? Use an old coat hanger to clean out? Ideas? Lawrence Rhodes
