Frustrating , isn't it ? .

When mine let go , I was tooling down a side street in Los Angeles , I smelt coolant and immediately pulled over ~ I don't like overheating ever no matter the reason .

I was able to patch it by the curb then I bought an old all metal aftermarket radiator and $pent way too much $ having it re cored but now I don't worry about coolant issues .

If you're going to buy a new radiator , I highly suggest ponying up for the NISSIN brand one , it's only a little bit more $ and is a top quality product with lifetime guarantee .

Mark made a good point ~ SWMBO's cherry 240D overheated on me way out in the middle of no where Nevada when that alloy water pump housing got a hole in it .

Take the time to properly clean your cooling system with the Citric Acid flush at least once then do bi - annual coolant changes and never worry about leaks & overheating ever again .
