OMG! That would be a site!
My granddad used to use carbide to poison gophers. One day he drove up the driveway in his '27 Whippet with a leaky bag of the stuff, the chickens in the yard found the spillage, took to eating it, blew up to about vollyball diameter, and popped, in a cloud of feathers! I've not mentioned this often over the years, nobody ever believes it...

Date: Thursday, May 24, 2012, 9:49 AMI was thinking...hmmm, is this a sign that I'm NOT supposed to go to the interview in downtown Dallas? We'll see this afternoon.
Car still leaks. It seemed to have gotten better for a while. It's still not as bad as it was in the beginning.
Oh and now I have chickens with oil on their backs! Yesterday when I got home due to the high wind their coop door broke open and they were out and decided under the car was a good hang out! I can't imagine that there was anything to eat under there that wasn't there before I parked and it's on gravel...they should have stayed in the grass where the zillions of grasshoppers are!

Is the job worth more than the engine? How much damage incurred by very low oil?
Pays your money, takes your choice. Or maybe the other way around..

Date: Thursday, May 24, 2012, 8:00 AMGot an emergency oil question on my MB. I put the last 2 qts of oil in, nothing showing on dip stick, but pressure gauge was fine. Town is 10 miles...I have a 2nd job interview later today that I really, really need to get to.
I know in the past I've been told on here that if the gauge shows pressure I'm OK.
Would YOU drive the ten miles to town?
