RE: [diesel_mercedes] Trailer hitch.

 

I removed one from my ’79 300SD (W116 body) that had 4 fastening points, two in the bumper and two in the spare tire well.  I was just about to list it on Ebay (cleaning out the garage).  If anyone’s interested, let me know.  Should work for a 123 but not totally sure.  Send me a note if interested.  I’ll wait a few days to list.

Saw a nice small receiver mounted on a VW bug which I can get copied for about $100 USD. Can any one tell me if it is sufficient to bolt it up to the bumper? I was amazed at how thick the bumper is, the bumper will take the weight no problem, but is the bumper connected well enough to the car?
We have a small enclosed trailer I would like to haul occasionally max weight 1000 lbs.
