Panel Preview
California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard and its Implications
for Biodiesel and Renewable Diesel Production
Monday, January 16
9:00 am - 10:30 am

The California market for transportation diesel fuel is over 3 billion gallons per year, and increasing. California has led the way in regulating emissions and reducing greenhouse gases, and many other states and countries are following. The main tool for GHG reductions is a mandate to use low carbon fuel instead of petroleum. The Carbon Intensity of each fuel has been defined by the California Energy Commission in its regulations for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard. Understanding the LCFS is essential to compete in the California market.
