No it didn't come with any system. I just heard about them years ago. I read another site recommended from this list...have so much more to wade through to make an informed decision. Even though I'm in the Dallas area of TX it does get cold here. This year we had a "bad" winter, for this area, so if you're from the far north don't laugh! :)

Both of my 1983 300d's have wires going to nowhere. Previous owners or mechanics seem to have cut wires, and just added new wiring rather than pull old wiring and replace. The Haynes Mercedes manuals are available at Pep Boys and other such retailers. Use google to chase down things. Those searches will turn up a lot of URL's for MB sites, some of which are quite good. Go to Wickepedia and search for "Mercedes 300d" and you will get some good overall information too.

I honestly don't know what wires they were speaking of. There were too many conversations going on, I missed out on that one. I know the boys dad pointed them out to my hubby, said he had no idea where they went. He's a diesel mechanic, for what that's worth. The car just passed inspection. Horn works, lights work, no dash lights. Fuzes are OK, we checked them again yesterday. He showed us the a/c wires that were rat chewed, so those aren't the ones that are unknown. I'll ask hubby and have him point them out then take a pic.
