[diesel_mercedes] answer to what was buzzing

 

The electric switch over valve is the part that was buzzing on my 300sd.
If if remove the line at the top and put my finger on the opening, the noise stops. must be a vacuum issue. I may try to change the lines to see if it is a leak at the connection. there is a picture of the diagram of the vacuum system just posted in the album 1984 300sd. The part is number 33.11 in the diagram.
