Hi, just returning to the forum after a year or so away as I bought a 91 300D 2.5. on eBay last week. Flew to Buffalo, NY to pick it up then drove it home to RI. Made the trip in ~8 hours - had to stop twice for food and restroom, but didn't need fuel until I got to my home town. 505 mils, 33.1 MPG. A/C on for most of trip and stayed with or ahead of traffic the whole way (mostly ahead). I think I'm going to like this car :-) My 84 300CD nor my 87 300D, never hit that MPG althought they would be consistantly around 28 - 30MPG.

They're nice Road Missiles aren't they ? =8-) .
Easing off the loud pedal to 65 MPH should jump you right up to 30 + MPG's right away .
