Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Whats up? update on HC12-a

Yes, things are a little quiet out there in diesel land. I put a new air cleaner filter in Martha - not very challenging, but good for the girl. She is a great car (for my wife @ $1800). At 280K she just runs and runs and purrs like a cat. Today or tomorrow, I'll flush her radiator and change the antifreeze - kind of silly when she stays on 175F all the time, but I like to keep her clean. It is summer so there is no shade under the trees to make me feel like doing anything strenuous. But, 2 rear axles on Mary are on the horizon, maybe I'll look at the shocks and under body mounts while I am at it.

--Last post July 6?
Finally drove my car(really I rode while someone else drove)on a hot day and tested my AC. Last summer we put in a new compressor and 134-a. The AC worked really good. We forgot to replace the old scrader valves and I think that is where the juice leaked out. This summer we put in HC12-a. After all the stuff I had read about it being so much better than 134, I found out that in my car it is not. One thing tho is that a 6oz. can equals 17oz of R-12 and they cost me $4 a can, so that is a good thing. Anyway the AC worked good yesterday, hope the stuff stays in the system. max
