Thanks for the input. Glow plugs glowed nicely outside the car. And with the injectors removed, I could view them glowing red while installed.
I ran the compression test – several times to get consistent numbers on all cylinders. The results are bad, very bad. Keep in mind this was a cold engine test, given it’s pretty difficult to do a warm engine test on a car that will not start.
Cylinder 1 – 220 Cylinder 2 – 180 Cylinder 3 – 210 Cylinder 4 – 310
So guys, what do you things the odds are that a valve job will help this engine? A complete rebuild is way outside my skill set, and also my budget. Has my beloved 240D become a parts car?
