Kent likes to sell parts.A turbo should last 3 engines.You need boost gauge,as mine only had 6 psi.Now 16 psi.

Hey this is a cool topic and very timely for me! A few quick questions:

(Mine is 1984 300 SD Turbo - 275k mi)

1). Are there any easy/obvious "tests" to tell if my turbo is working or not working? (i.e. no turbo whine to speak of, no boost gauge)

2). How hard is it to remove/replace the turbo with engine in car?

3). What do you estimate parts cost and total repair time to be?
