Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: FUNGUS (Diesel Slime)

Greetings,

Chain. Now that's a good idea.

The method I learned was add solvent, (kerosene) drop
in about 500 marble sized nuts, bolts, washers, nails,
or similar items. Then you get a kid's wagon and an
ice cold twelve pack. Set tank on wagon. Move wagon
back and forth with one hand while drinking beer with
the other. Switch hands as needed to avoid fatigue and
rotate tank periodically.

If you can find the proper aged kid around, pay the
kid a buck to do the wagon routine while you drink
beer and supervise the periodic rotation of the tank.

Enjoy!

You know, if I had as much trouble as some of you with
dirty tanks, I'd drain and remove the thing, put a
length of chain and a gallon of solvent in it
(gasoline or mineral spirits), then do the hippy-hippy
shakes and the shimmy-shimmy coco bop with it. I'd
finish up by dumping out the chain and solvent,
rinsing it real good, and letting it sit in the sun
for a day to dry. And be DONE with it!!

Bummer , that .

Is it possible that the tiny chunks are bits of
old hose that are trying to give you a warning of
something? The way you describe driving to work, to
Pasadena and to SWMBO's house, you're not letting any
fuel sit in the system long enough to grow fungus.

Over here on the west side, the fuel is all clean.
Probably the nice salt breezes from Santa Monica bay
kill off the fungus.
