I had a big bolt in the inner tire of my left duals. An auto mechanic
plugged it like you plug a normal
car tire. The problem was I don't have 35 psi I have 110 psi instead and
eventually the plug was squeezed
out of the tire. Of course all that happened while I was driving 60 mph on
the highway. Since at that time of the blow out only one tire was intact it
would not have been able to carry the 28000 pounds accordingly and the
acceleration of the weight to the left when you do a right turn. That is why
these rigs have duals in the back. So I presume these 28000 pounds could
have rolled over very easily at that speed. Another problem was I didn't
feel a thing, so I had no idea what was going on and therefore I would not
have had a chance to adapt the speed.
This has nothing to do with scare tactics. This was a chain of incidences
which could have lead to a disaster.
It started with an unprofessional repair of a 110 psi heavy truck tire,
which I could have prevented because I should have known better.
I hope this helps to understand. This was an incident which happened to me,
and I just wanted to share it.
Disclaimer: I am not a dealer for pressure monitor systems, nor am I
involved with this business. My only interest is to share experiences with
this group.

I noted your statement as below before. Since you've now stated it twice
I'll ask for more "explanation." As I recall, in your earlier message you
stated something only the lines of "one more turn and the rig would have
rolled over." I believe it had to do with a flat on one dual. So, how do
you figure one more turn would have made the rig roll over???
For the record, I understand what pressure monitoring systems do, but like
others, I don't buy into what appears to be "scare tactics" in advocating
them. I've been driving trucks, etc since I was 15 years old, and I've had
blowouts more than once on heavily loaded trucks, so I know pretty much what
can happen.

It already saved my rig and possibly my life once.
