Hi Gary,
If I am parked for a period of time that requires several dumpings, I use a water hose spraying down the toilet to help move the solids in addition to the built in flusher. I am lucky that I can open my toilet valve and see down into the holding tank's bottom. We are on the Roadmaster 8 air bag chassis with the HWH air bag leveling system with no hydraulic jacks. In order to tilt the motor home to empty the tanks I have to start the diesel engine to air up the system. I do not like to start my diesel for a short period of time because of the moisture that will collect in the exhaust system. That moisture can create rust that shortens the life of the exhaust system. The engine needs to operate at normal operating temperatures for awhile to dry up the moisture. That requires driving the coach. Chuck B

Chuck, I too had a PILE in my black tank until I started being
religious about putting a good amount of water in the tank whenever I
dumpoed and flushed. This allows stuff to slosh around and break up.
I have a built in flush thingy so all I do after I dump is run water
into the tank. I have not had a problem since I started this. In
addition when I dump I raise coach on Curbside so that stuff flows
dowhhill whe I dump.

has a lot to do with which side of the coach the toilet is on. On
