[Diesel-RVs] Re: Frozen water pipe!

It was -3 with a -12 wind chill factor the other night where I am. I
keep the hot water faucet farthest from the city water intake open at
a small but STEADY stream, not a drip. Not only does it keep the
pipes from freezing, I don't even have the outside hose insulated, and
it never freezes (and I don't need ice cubes:). It's more convenient,
and I figure that running the small stream of hot water at night
probably doesn't cost as much as running a twenty foot heat tape
twenty four/seven. I have a heater in the wet bay, but found out the
hard way that even that isn't enough to keep the hot water supply pipe
located on the other side in the back of the coach from freezing. It
makes a 90 degree angle before it goes to the back of the coach where
the hot water heater is at, and apparently, not enough heat gets back
there even though it's about fifty in the wet bay.
