I got home yesterday and it was blistering hot so of course I decided to work on my '82 240D ~ I did a hot oil & filter change then I finished up re installing the replacement headlight switch (I drove it at night holding it to check for hot terminals) and a couple other little service things .
My 1923 house isn't air conditioned so it depends on the back porch exhaust fan to suck out all the heat from the refrigerator, it's amazing how a single refri can heat up an entire 1558 square foot house .
I use LESKO branded 21" box fans, I get a few years out of each one before they quit ~ this time I took it apart and used my "Zoom Spout" oiler to work some electric motor oil into the bearings, after a few moments of hand spinning the motor it was free again so I re assembled it and plugged it in, so far so good .
My brother Tom's Man Cave has a Chinese fan that quit, I think I'll take it apart and see if I can save it to the next time I know he's over there .
Summer is here .
