To - day I was tinkering on my gray market late 1984 300TD and I added a Mr. Gasket (cheapo Chinese) fuel pressure gauge, it goes from 0 ~ 15 # in half pound increments and is very small, I thought it's be nice to see what boost my speedy and peppy TD is getting .
If I stand on the throttle max. boost is 14.5 # .
Mostly it stays between 6 ~ 8.5 in just driving, street or freeway .
It spools up pretty quickly when I accelerate when moving, less so when I'm stationary but this is a big heavy 7 passenger station wagon so I don't expect a whole lot of giddyap and go .
Soon I'll be addressing the broken waste gate and A.I.R. valve in my Coupe and use this pressure as a general guideline .
I was more thinking 12 maybe 13# maximum, I don't want to beat the engine to death .
