Re: [diesel_mercedes] Parts Might Be Parts

Where did you get the 80 amp alternator? Did they have more?

Is t a direct fit? What car was it for?

My alternator is under charging pretty bed, and it hasn't been that long since changing out the voltage regulator, so it might be shot.

I'll need to check voltage regulator.

O.K., in my long ramble last night I neglected to mention the 80 ampere alternator was only $36 and included the adjuster bracket and bolts & nuts .

I'll check the brushes and do a serious cleaning before I slap it on my Coupe then I'll take the Coup's 55 ampere alternator and test it on my Brother's '81 W126 as it's got some sort of charging issue that leaves the dash light on .

I paid $15 each for the rear seat belts out of a 1986 W126, they're choice but not *exactly* correct so I may wind up using earlier style wagon belts, we'll see .

I found and bought a near new up graded air cleaner 'T' support bracket for $9 and the nearly new driver's side window lift with motor was $39, a very good price indeed .

The good used tested in situ by me ALDA was $10 and included the banjo bolt, sealing washers and plastic pipe .

Lastly I bought the overboost sensor switch that's screwed into the intake manifold for $5 just because everything else on my Coupe has been ruined by over boosting and I never noticed the boots control valve dumping so it's a good spare part to have I think .

I took a 2' long section of wire along with it and will make up a simple good/bad test harness using that bit of wire with it's proper special connector and test both the current pressure sensor valve and the used one .

To - day I'm off to clean used seat belts both in the car and the wrong pair I bought yesterday in case I wind up using them .
