You'd best change that clean intake screen RIGHT NOW then go to Pep Boys who has them on the shelf and buy as many as you can, either clean them out by spraying starting fluid through them backwards or replace until they begin to be clean again .
Prolly time to stock up on secondary fuel filters too .
I've been buying various brands of filters by the case off E-Bay, plenty out there once you know the proper part #'s to look for, Amazon also often has case lots .
Pay the Piper a little now or much more later, your choice .

Thanks Max.
I just don't want to goof up the pump. Fortunately it's a wet sump design, so it will be hard to wreck. I just don't want to be one of those who will be saying, "Well, it WAS a nice car!"
One positive side effect, the clear fuel filter is now black as can be. I must have extincted the bacteria and washed the little critters out of the tank! When this is done, I am going to replace it.-- Mark L. Bardenwerper, Sr. Technology...responsibly, thoughtfully
