Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Driving every day in Wisconsin

I got Mary in the early 1990's with 60,000 on her. She was from Palm Springs which meant no rust, but a pitted windshield. We have lived together for over 20 years now, although she has had two engine replacements since I got her. This year I will replace shocks and suspension on this 35 year old lady with 220,000 miles on her.

I picked up Martha around 2005 with 230,000 miles. I was going to yank her engine and use it in Mary, but she had been well maintained and ran so well, I decided to keep her and she now has about 300,000 miles on her. She of course has her rear end slightly stove in, but is driveable.

Both are ongoing projects. But what else is an old retired guy with time on his hands going to do? Maybe I will get a small used pick up truck to add to the fleet in 2018.
