Re: [diesel_mercedes] Cold Starting Drill

The generator is a excellent solution. With the inverter generator it has technology to run only as fast as it needs to to keep the frequency at 59hz, which for smaller loads that means much quieter and using way less fuel and longer life. Max

That works for me. I plugged the heater in and it started in the cold NH morning. I went to work and there wasn't a plug anywhere. After a tow, I put my Honda EU2000 generator, a large battery charger and two extension cords. About 2 hours before I leave work, I start the generator, plug in the heater and battery charger. Works great!

I had to put a new end on the line that goes to my heater tonight. It's plugged in tonight for the first time. Temp is expected to drop to 16 degF. Barely started without it this morning. Took two tries and a longer than usual crank. This car must start every day to earn its keep.
