Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Vacuum Shifting Valve
The back story: When I left Mary (1983 w123 300d) in So. Cal. to get her rebuilt engine installed, I was on a tight schedule to get from the airport to pick her up and start the drive back to Washington. The jr. mechanic mumbled something about "they don't make these anymore so it will shift a little hard." I did not pay as much attention as I should have - what he was showing me was the Vacuum Shifting Valve (VCV) which was used on 1980-1984 w123's and w126's. See video https://mercedessource.com/

Ok - I need to find one and install it. Any of you have one laying around anywhere? They really don't make them anymore, so it means finding a good used one, or rebuilding one (hard to do).
