Well, here are my plans for the fall:
1. Will fly to Ontario, CA in 3-4 weeks to pick up Mary with her "new" used block and head, and will drive her back to Washington. Hope I can get a fair negotiated price on the repairs. Mary has most of my tools in her trunk which I need to get up north.
2. After Mary gets home, I will take Martha into a body shop to repair the rear end. The gal in the 4x4 climbed over the rear bumper and hit me dead center so the "fix" will include a new deck lid, new tail lights on both sides, and new panels above the bumper. If I can get those parts from a desert tan w123 I can avoid major repaint. Martha is good to drive because of the "dead center" hit, which left the tail light lenses cracked but still working and functional. But, I can't get the trunk open to get the spare tire out which means no long distance traveling.
3. Then it will be time to address Sylvia (1984 w126) who is sitting in my daughters backyard in Columbus, Ohio with major engine failure. Would prefer to part it out but hard to do that from long distance. Would be nice to not send it to the crusher, but might become an NPR donation.
4. Finish landscaping the yards with pea gravel, bark, pavers, and sand.
