Re: [diesel_mercedes] Fender liners (interior panels) for a 1975 240D

Squarelines are tough for getting parts.  Not collectable enough for anyone to do re-issues, too old for the dealer to carry much, and getting real scarce in the yards.  Maybe call Miller's and see what they suggest:

Or K and K:

If enough people show interest, maybe they can find someone to punch out a run.

Alan's suggestion may be the best....

As I remember they are basically flat panels with rubber seals on the outside edge.  You should be able to find someone to make them if you can't do it yourself.  The seals can be any flexible rubber or plastic that can slip over or fasten to the panel.

I'm hoping the collective wisdom of this group can guide me on how to find fender liner (panels) for my 115 Series 240D. These are the vertical pieces of metal that live immediately behind the front tires inside the fenders & protect from all the debris kicked up from the tires.

I've run down the usual suspects (ebay, pelican parts, Buds Benz, even dealerships) with the same responses 'no longer made / available'

The M/B part numbers:
1158840535
1158840635

I just replaced the front fenders due to rusting out because the internal shields were in bad shape & want to ensure I address the cause to avoid another costly repair down the road.

Any thoughts or advice from the collective wisdom of the group is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
