Maybe the Startron is getting the gold plated contacts in the fuel sender fully clean at long last .
I got down to 1/4 tank with no low fuel lamp lit , a while later when the needle hit R the low fuel lamp flickered and then remained on as it did back when first I bought this car .
I then drove just over 40 more miles before filling it up so all is well for now, hopefully to remain this way a long time yet .
