Well, you got through it. I saw the 'name not on title' situation on New York TV about 15 years ago.
Hang in there. Bill in Oregon

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] WEE TODD DID
Yesterday afternoon I got a lunch invite and parked directly underneath a " DON'T PARK HERE AFTER 3PM OR YOU'LL BE TOWED " sign and guess what happened ? .
Oops .
I got a ride home about 9PM and this morning my Brother came to fetch me and take me to Parking Enforcement where the nice Man told me _I_ cannot retrieve the car because my name isn't on the title
.... so we had to fight traffic to the other side of Los Angeles and fetch my sweet Lady and take her back to the Parking Enforcement Office then the Impound Yard then to lunch and so on and so forth....
All my fault of course, good thing she doesn't get mad when I screw up .
$500.00 *gone* just like that .
At least the Tow Company was honest and didn't damage the car nor touch anything ~ my Lap Top was in the boot .
