[diesel_mercedes] Rear End Ratios & Swapability

I did notice the carrier housing has 115 part number suffixes on it so I assume there's scads of ratios I can pick from , I just like it as it is now and want to keep it the same .

Did you swap the ring and pinion or the entire assembly ? .

I never did check the ratios but we swapped a 123 into a 126 with acceptable results.  In other words the 126 didn't whine anymore and the person driving the 126 stopped whining and didn't complain about any relative difference in performance.
