Good idea on the door lock cleaning.
Who knows what el crapola has been used on the door lock mechanisms over the years. Get some brake cleaner,
and spray away. What did Mercedes recommend on their door locks? Or get something like a moly disulfide
lube that is a dry film lube for a wide range of temps. Being dry, it will not attract debris that will
jam the door locks. CRC 03084 16 oz Aerosol Dry Moly Lubricant or WD-40 BIKE DRY LUBE

Well, as you may guess, we southern California guys are experts in frozen driving conditions. First thing that came to my mind was my wifes hair blow dryer and wiring it to run off the cigarette lighter. Then I remembered reading about heating up the car key so it melted the ice. I noticed my locks worked better after I took them apart and cleaned all of the 30 year old grease, gunk, and crud out.
