I am enjoying my Leaf. I just drove from Lodi to San Francisco via Berkeley to do business. My tank holds about 24kw or just under 3/4 of a gallon of equivalent fuel. 33kw equals a gallon of gas. Diesel is a bit more. So I went close to 100 miles on less than a gallon of gas. This is why electric will eventually win. It's why a lot of machines run on electric. BMW claims it will be 100% electric by 2025. We run on liquid fuel for convenience and to keep the decedents of Rockefeller rich. . How much longer must we choke ourselves for convenience? Look at China. What a mess. I bought my Leaf(2013) with 2,600 miles on it...yes that is no typo twenty six hundred miles. The price was 14k. I got 0 down and 0% financing. That is 258 dollars for 5 years. It's like legalized theft. I could have gotten a 2013 with more miles for 10k but the 2,600 mile car was pristine. As was the 22,000 mile car. We have had another Leaf for 3 years and it's lease is up soon. Don't buy a 2012 or 2011 Leaf. By 2013 they had the bugs worked out. The first cars are great but not as good as the later cars. Guess what car we will get next. Not hard. Enough of greasy visits under a hulking car. No oil changes, transmission fluid changes, no rotting exhaust system, no smog,...but we didn't do that anyway. No tuneups. Don't get me wrong. For the time I had it it was great but times are changing and I'm getting old. Enough of knuckle busting. I love the fact I will not be maintaining my vehicle because there will be plenty of young studs willing to stick their wand into my OBD III socket. Well I shouldn't lie. I bought mine for 22 dollars on eBay. I will probably dabble using Leaf Spy. Lawrence Rhodes
