Yea, well, Murphys law is at work. Subaru is working, thank goodness, been snowing everyday for weeks it seems like, my plow truck sprung a huge oil leak, I have to wait till tomorrow to pick up the part, meanwhile the ground keeps getting higher, but thanks to my son that buys and sell Subarus, he left me a 06 Outback with those studless blizzark tires. First winter car I have never had studs on, so far so good. Last night after snow all dAY drove home up the side of my mountain, with only a little sliding. Tires seem to work good. Hopefully plowing tomorrow. Max

This is a tricky one Max .
My Son drives and rebuilds Subarus , he says anything important like the timing belt or the AC sealing rings , he gets only from the Subaru Dealer .
If I could afford it , I'd buy more Mercedes parts from The Classic Center .
I have no idea how to explain how i choose what parts to buy where , used or new ~ I use my accumulated years of experience and I never like buying anything sight unseen .

Max wrote :Hey Nate, when buying parts and not buying from your dealer(now I'm thinking of Subaru) what should you look for? OEM parts or what? I know there is a lot of crap stuff out there. Maybe a good subject for discussion. Usually for my Mercedes I just go to Arizona Parts haus and buy what they have but now I need something for my winter car, Subaru. Thanx Rob ;
I looked in Peach Parts and was astounded at how expen$ive it is .
I eventually found one in Pick-A-Part that looks new , they looked at it and asked me what the heck it was then called it an electric switch , cost $ 2.25 =8-) .
They also sold me some W-123 door checks " hinges " for $ 5.50 each and some inside door pulls from a European Spec. Sedan for $ 5.50 each ~ needless to say I am *very* happy and will soon be diving into the doors on the Wagon , replace the door checks and floppy release handles .
