If the blower still worked on defrost it's probably in need of brushes .
I bought one ' Uro ' brand fan motor , it works O.K. but vibrates a tiny bit at high speed .
I've replaced the brushes in other blowers , one in particular had a very bad commutator but it's still working fine .

Thanks for the reminder. Think I will put #4 of 5 glow plugs in the wifes car, and then look at her failed heat providing system. Think her blower is down, but will start with the easy stuff first (fuses, mono, etc.)
