Re: [diesel_mercedes] Diesel Vs. Gasoline

Hey Nate, you got fungus I got starters. I just replaced my starter again about 5 weeks ago. It just went out, again. Solenoid this time, first time for this I think. Bosch rebuilt, main starter motor, , but I'm guessing everything else is crap. Good thing its easy on a 240. Hey, are the starters from TD's the same? I have a Turbo and a non, I was thinking maybe one of those would be a good MB starter. Max

Thanx Max .

Interesting article .

I used to run vintage air cooled VW's long before they were ' cool ' , I loved them a lot and always enjoyed the 30 + MPG I got .

They were NOT as safe as any Mercedes , I've survived a few wrecks , notably rolling my 1953 Split Window Beetle @ 85 MPH .

I didn't appreciate how noisy they were either , having grown up on old cars in the 1960's .

Wow , my 240D is a bank vault in comparison .

Sort of interesting. When I got my first MB diesel gas was .80 a gallon and diesel was .40 a gallon and you had to know where to find it. This article does not take in the "wow" factor of having a a super well made old car. 240's are so easy to work on, lots of room under the hood, not so much on 300T. Max
