Is that right ? .
I can't recall having driven a manual tranny 240D .
The acceleration is leisurly to sat the least but I *do* enjoy how the car drives very much , it has a nimble feel to it my 300D's don't .

Just so Warren ;
I've had more vehicles than most ever will , I was deep into old 35HP VW's for Decades before they became cool and the stupid assed kids began stealing & destroying them .
This 240D is very similar in concept to a 1950's VW Beetle ~ simple and robust , able to keep running long after others have given up as long as you take care of it .
Amazingly economical to operate .
I put 182 miles on it to - day and loved every (poky , slow) moment.
This one will go 83 MPH wide open if I wait long enough , I don't like to run it that hard .

Warren wrote :Nate, 'bare bones diesel', that is the essence of these cars. I drove my Dad's then new
70 when I was on leave, from the bay area to Merced in July. Ran 80 MPH the entire
way, no ac on the car. Wow, it just kept wanting to go. Same car today, and it just
keeps going.
