No experience with this, but...
I feel you should definitely block off the air flow and not let it bypass the radiator. If you have an appropriate piece of plastic, that would be great. If not, aluminium flashing (for roofing) should be good.

Oil cooler hooked up fine with two bolts and assembly.(driver side) Perfect. It's the big slot where wind can blow right into the engine compartment.(passenger side) Should I block it off or not?
