It's for the most excellent SANDEN (sorry if I miss spelled it) compressor that uses less power to run and works better overall .
The caveats are : needs different mounting brackets and custom made hoses as the connections to the compressor are different .
Well worth the effort and $ IMO , I am enjoying the nice cold R-12 in my '84 300CD right now but I am also hearing something rattling under the hood , clearly it's a rotating bearing so I may soon be up for AC repairs .
If so I'll prolly make the jump .
