[diesel_mercedes] Klima II Fuse Blowing

On my '84/'85 European Spec. 300TD the HVAC and horns share the same fuse and since I bought the car it blew regularly , replacing the horns with rebuilt earlier , better sounding horns didn't help and I couldn't find any bare/damaged/shorted wires , I kept replacing the fuses and in time they stopped blowing but last week when I ran the heater on high in the cool morning , I noticed a slight vibration and heard the blower's bearing howling so now I feel confident that was the problem ~ as any electrical motor gets drag from lack of lubrication or simply wears out , it draws ever more current as it struggles to achieve proper speed , this can blow the fuses , in this case it's an 8 Ampere fuse .

My thought is : the fan bearing went dry after 30 years and began to drag , as I run it on low anytime I'm driving , the bushing simply wore out and got loose , allowing it to vibrate and have less drag even though it's worn out and  jun now .

I have experianced this on other hig mileage vehicles before .

As soon as I can budget it I'll buy a Uro brand $100  new fan and install it , see if it ever blows the fuse again .
