It turns out she was (as usual) panicing , I'd filled it and by 50 miles +/- the gauge was still pegged so I added a 1/3 bottle of Startron and drove it a couple times , to - day I took it out on errands and made a point of going fast through dips etc. to slosh the beejeebers out of the fuel , tank and gauge sender float , by the time I hit 100 miles the gauge's needle had moved off " F " . so it's good to go as always .
This thing is a rocket ship ! we loaded it full of us and Teenaged Foster boys last night and went out for pizza across town , it still accelerated from a dead stop like a cork from a bottle .
If it was a stick shift I *know* it would easily lay rubber , Michelin Defender tires and all .

Is there any chance that the startron helps with performance? Seems a little peppier today?
Damn, got parking lotted today, small crease in the rear fender, gonna have to see how good my government run auto insurance is.
