There must be an air leak somewhere to allow the system to drain. If you find that, you don't need a check valve.
Air needs a small leak to get by. I've had luck spraying an oil on different spots. The oil will clog the small crack and seal it. Or maybe a pressure check with soapy water?
Do you see any fuel leaking?Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: Lawrence Rhodes <primobassoon@sbcglobal.net>Sender: diesel_mercedes@yahoogroups.comDate: Tue, 16 Jul 2013 09:22:43 -0700 (PDT)ReplyTo: diesel_mercedes@yahoogroups.comSubject: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Bad check valve in injector pump fix.I checked the glow plugs in two ways. For heat with an infrared thermometer & by voltage drop. It's the fuel probably unless the compression is bad. But to crank for a minute and then start and idle smoothly? Gotta be fuel. The valve clearance was checked and it just got a diesel purge. How hard is a check valve. I sure they make them for 3/8 inch hose. Lawrence Rhodes.....
